The Brassworks is a beautiful conversion of a former factory into stunning, light-filled, loft-style apartments. The project offers spacious and high quality residential accommodation in a prime central London location. The building was falling into disrepair, and although not listed, is in an important conservation area. We applied our conservation skills alongside our experience of designing stylish and contemporary spaces to create a series of attractive and liveable apartments that respect the building’s heritage. The facade has been cleaned and restored, and features such as huge steel beams traversing each apartment have been retained. Most apartments have private outdoor space and we exploited the shape of the original building to create a peaceful central courtyard. Interiors have been designed to the highest specification including custom-made kitchens and furniture. All apartments were let almost immediately upon completion, encouraging our client (the Church Commissioners) to identify other nearby properties to add to their Hyde Park Estate portfolio.
