A fantastic achievement for Beech Architects as we obtained planning permission for a new Paragraph 55 eco-house in Knodishall Suffolk. To achieve this type of consent the criteria requires a highly innovative and sustainable design to be accepted by the exception planning rules. The planning committee unanimously voted the design for approval. The design uses rubble foundations, straw bale walls, recycled pallet timber cladding, rammed earth wall construction and a crinkle crankle brick wall feature, which pays homage to the Suffolk vernacular and reflects local distinctiveness all with a contemporary approach.
