The Travellers Friend is a community pub with a contemporary feel located in Woodford Green, London. BDA were instructed to design a new ground floor extension to the existing pub, demolishing the existing rear kitchen with a new contemporary kitchen and restaurant area. In addition, BDA remodelled the main pub, producing interior fit out designs to create a contemporary feel to the pub, while ensuring the traditional aesthetic of the pub was maintained. BDA also assisted with a change of use application for an existing parcel of land adjacent to the pub to form a beer garden.
