BDA were appointed to design a two storey rear extension with associated internal alterations to the existing property in Hockley, Essex, to create a new open plan kitchen / diner and bedroom at first floor. BDA designed a striking master suite with an impressive vaulted ceiling, creating an inset balcony overlooking the garden with a feature surround finished in timber cladding. The modern addition was finished in crisp white render to contrast the existing house. After construction was complete, BDA were later instructed to design an outbuilding in the garden to create a home gym, which was finished in the same material palette as the two storey rear extension.
