The existing RSPCA was founded in 1932 and has developed in a very ad hoc manner, but has been a very successful operation. Health Regulations etc. have become more demanding and it became apparent in 1998 that the site needed considerable upgrading, to comply with regulations and improve facilities. The new development comprises a new reception building, veterniary acccommodation, new catteries, new kennels and a completely new drainage system. The project has been analysed by BRESCU and many of their ideas have been incorporated into design.
