The project won the Best Altered Building at the Leeds Awards 2013. The first phase of the Tower Works development comprised the restoration and extension of the Grade II listed entrance range. The building was almost at the point of being beyond economic repair – the (then) Homes and Communities Agency, having taken over from the Regional Development Agency, chose to redevelop the dilapidated entrance range building and undertake further enabling works on the wider site. This work safeguarded listed buildings, created a new valuable (and sought after) commercial space for start-up businesses in the Creative and Digital Sectors.
