Working with long term client Yacht Haven Group, the starting point for the project once the large waterfront former gas works site after acquisition was a master plan to zone site uses and establish the principles for development and bring new infrastructure onto the site. This innovative regeneration scheme was for marine business use and included at the heart of the scheme the UK's first and largest fully enclosed dry stack boat storage building. The building is a highly innovative four storey high boat racking scheme served by Wiggins marine fork lift trucks. Also included are flexible business units, both industrial and offices, a facility building including marina office, cafe and offices, piers pontoons, toilets and boatyard facilities. Within the master plan future uses were identified including the potential for waterfront residential development. The site continues to be highly successful and more recently additional pontoons were put in to cater for the additional demand by clients.
