6 Riverside House , Lower Southend Road , WICKFORD , Essex , SS11 8BB

Moving into this site in 1973, the Salvation Army Colchester, now has a striking new glazed entrance hall and additional meeting rooms. The aim of this eye-catching refurbishment located in Butts Road, is to increase the buildings appeal to new and existing community and Sunday worship. The new entrance, a glazed cube, reads as a composition of colour, light and transparency keeping as a reference the lines of the existing building. The alterations have increased the floor space internally by over 100m2 for additional meeting rooms and other facilities. This was the 7th completed project by Ayshford Sansome for The Salvation Army.
