Ayshford Sansome have a long established relationship with Olympus KeyMed Ltd who are based in South Essex and manufacture hi-tech medical equipment. Over the years we have embarked on over 150 building projects, many of which involved remodelling, extending and refurbishing existing buildings in creative ways using high quality specification and finishes to suit a large number of technically demanding and sensitive processes. This includes the Manufacturing Facility for medical devices delivered in only 10 months, and the Technical Services building awarded ‘New Building of the Year’ in 2004 by Southend-on-Sea Borough Council which contains administrative, call centre, warehouse, distribution, biological sterilisation, R&D testing and a repair workshop facilities for the cleaning and repair of medical endoscopes. We have also assisted with the installation of dozens of fully integrated Laparoscopic operating theatres into a number of hospitals countrywide. Other major works include the design and refurbishment of both the main reception to KeyMed House and the staff canteen. Our services involved surveying and assessing existing theatres for suitability, and then developing scheme proposals, including 3D visualisations for inclusion into technical bids. Once a project was secured, we prepared packages of information to obtain statutory & health trust approvals for construction. Our involvement also extended to a 77,000 sq.m new build scheme for Olympus Industrial America Inc. in New York, USA which involved brief development and scheme design in the UK and then acting as client representative and architectural advisor for the detail design through to completion on site.
