Alteration to existing property
Austin Lebbon Architecture Ltd.
The Old Parlour , Stanbridge Farm , Sussex Road , Petersfield , GU31 5RB , United Kingdom
The client had recently purchased the property and wanted to update the semi detached Edwardian house into a family home suitable for modern living. The rear of the property has been opened up at ground floor level to create an open kitchen family space connecting the whole of the ground floor with the impressive rear garden. A large family bathroom was a priority and this has been created by adding the first floor element to the extension. The rear garden has been drawn up to the first floor via the introduction of a sedum roof to the single storey areas. The appearance of the extension has been softened by the introduction of the timber cladding and living wall elements. The client was keen to achieve a contemporary appearance to the new extension. The local authority however wanted the existing style of the property to be replicated, therefore a fine balance had to be struck. Works are due to start on site in Spring 2021.
