Austin Design Works has worked with the clients at St. Michael's in a triptych of projects over the past ten years. This culminated in January 2017 with the completion of St Michael's Bistro & Restaurant with Boutique Guest rooms & Family Suites. St Michael's is set within the heart of the historical Cotswold town of Painswick, with views out to the well-known parish church’s yew trees. Throughout the process we maintained a shared vision with our client in accomplishing both the conserving restoration and creative remodeling of the historical Grade II Listed building. The Ground Floor houses a welcoming and high-end Bistro & Restaurant embracing its re-established historical setting with unique charm and authenticity. In addition to the traditional building restoration works, the interior design objective to the First and Second floors, has been to establish individually-themed rooms and suites. The First Floor houses the Indian Room, Art Deco & Rococo Boutique Guest rooms with the larger Bohemian and Retro Family suites on the Second Floor. The guest accommodation has all been luxuriantly completed and furnished in accordance with the individual themes with their own accompanying en-suites, all elegantly finished in artisan polished plaster.
