This project in Streatham was a full refurbishment and remodelling of the existing home, with a single storey ground floor rear extension and rear and side dormer roof extensions constructed over two phases. The first phase was finished in 2024, with the next phase starting in a few years time. Our clients came to us after finding us on Instagram, and had purchased a house near Tooting Bec Common, with lots of opportunity and potential! They had big plans for the property, including a large extension, loft extension and a total house refurbishment likely to be over multiple phases. The house was built in 1952, and had never been extended or altered. It was a bit gloomy, and the layout didn’t flow. They loved the idea of bringing in as much natural light as possible, with additional living and kitchen space for their 2 young children. In February 2022, we received planning for the single storey rear extension, replacement of existing garage doors with a new window on the front elevation and the erection of side and rear dormers to the rear and sides of the roof. It was agreed that the refurbishment and rear extension would form phase 1, with phase 2 taking place further down the line. When it came to the design, we focused on bringing in as much natural light as possible, through the use of the fantastic corner glazing, oriel window and rooflights, all supplied by Fluid Glass. This stunning Kitchen is from a local supplier, Roundhouse, and the windows and doors being supplied by Mumford & Wood. The extension was stepped out to match the current configuration of the house, and was completed in February 2024.
