The planning for the development was secured last year with a scheme providing, 149 Good Quality Homes achieving a 3.5 Home Quality Mark, 53% Affordable and providing 3 & 4 Bed Family Housing. The scheme looked to achieve a number of sustainable critera including a 49% Carbon Savings, 15% Biodiversity Increase and 0.42 Urban Greening Factor. The project provides a link between the new neighbourhood of Dagenham Green to the Becontree Estate with a pedestrian and cycle friendly public route that are enhanced by the landscape design which will lead down to Dagenham Dock Station. The mass of the building was developed to work with the proposed context of the Dagenham Green Development and the architectural articulation referenced the sites junction between the industrial past of the old Ford Stamping Plant to the south and the 1930's Residential estate to the North.
