Within a Conservation Area, Listed Building - Grade II*, New Build
The demolition of a 1960s and 70s building along King Street allowed development of the site into a Grade ‘A’ office, which included the refurbishment of the adjoining Grade II Queen Anne House. The site is within the city centre conservation area and adjacent to Grade I and Grade II* Queen Square and King Street buildings. AWW worked closely with the local authority and English Heritage to ensure that the relationship of the new buildings were given careful consideration to ensure the urban grain, scale and mass didn’t dominate the listed buildings.
