Full Circle @ Docklands appointed Askew Cavanna for a light-touch re-design of their Youth & Community Centre in St Pauls, Bristol in 2020. Along with a full architectural service through to completion, the Practice provided extensive early consultations with local residents and centre users. The feedback helped to prioritise work to areas of the building that would provide maximum social benefit, as well making minor alterations that support the Business Case for the work; such as increasing flexibility in the use of existing spaces, a new shower, a new welcoming reception and new office and co-working spaces. Robust flooring and furniture was installed, with interior design reflecting the tones and textures of the surrounding area. Coloured paint was used strategically throughout the building to celebrate and highlight social interactions; such as in the new reception, the kitchen servery and a new seating area at the heart of the building.
