As part of a whole estate diversification strategy, our team secured planning permission to convert four redundant agricultural barns into modern holiday lets. The barns, once used for cattle, were in a superb location to develop unique holiday let accommodation. Located on a working arable farm nestled in the rolling countryside of Berkshire, the barns have access to the AONB and are in close proximity to Newbury. The barns have been sympathetically restored to the highest standards uncovering much of their original charm and character boasting exposed beams, imposed vaulted ceilings, refurbished brickwork revealing their historic character as well as a contrasting timber wrapped extension with sharp, modern detailing. The Gallops Barn features a large open plan living space which flows seamlessly through to the kitchen area and boasts a utility room, four bathrooms and five bedrooms with capacity to accommodate up to 10 people. New glazing was set behind the line of existing brickwork to celebrate the rustic existing openings and a new wall build-up was installed internally to better insulate the building.
