THE CONCEPT The squash courts will be housed in a box and with all the energy exerted it seems that some walls will expand in the weak points to allow for a skylight on the south side at the end of the new courts. The residential units are secondary and will complement the mass of the sports facility so the appearance from the residents view will be softer and with a green elevation. Consideration of the construction materials is also key to the success of this project and we propose a soft timber elevation to the new building and to link the existing rather nondescript entrance with the new scheme to enhance the main entrance and soften the brick elevation.
