ArchitecturePLB was selected following an invited competition, to design and deliver this new residential development for Winchester City Council. The development, which sits within Winchester's conservation area and a dense urban neighbourhood, required a sensitive response to the surrounding Victorian properties. The scheme provides 27 sustainable homes for local people over 55 looking to downsize. ArchitecturePLB undertook multiple consultations with residents and prospective users, in order to supplement the briefing process. Good accessibility, a basement car park with plentiful storage, excellent day-lighting and balconies are provided to compensate for the move from larger family units to City apartment living.
