Having developed a masterplan for the Solent University campus, ArchitecturePLB were commission to develop designs a for and then deliver a new sports teaching complex. ArchitecturePLB proposed a high-quality, 'impact' building for the Sports Department to enhance the university's reputation and strategic recruitment objectives. The building was recommended to be located on the main university frontage overlooking Southampton's Central parks. The complex is made up of two volumes, a low black-brick element containing two high-performance sports halls and a tower containing gyms and teaching spaces with views of the park.
