This project showcases the complete renovation and extension of a 1960’s single family dwelling in Haslemere, Surrey. An original car port was reinvented as an open plan entrance hall, with the new extensions housing an open plan kitchen & dining area, master bedroom suite and replacement car port. The new extensions feature artificial shingle cladding that provides a visual separation to the render finished renovation of the existing. All new building elements have been positioned in order to redefine the entrance and setting of the property whilst maximising the southerly aspect of the site. The reconfigured internal layout, thermal improvements to the entire existing building fabric and a new heating system completed the refurbishment.
