Full of character, this property was originally used as a hunting lodge, nestled in a secluded location enjoying stunning views across a lake and beyond to the Surrey Hills. The property had been significantly altered in the 70s. Consequently, some spaces had become inner rooms, dark and isolated. Our design reconfigured the interior into a predominantly open plan living layout, benefiting from lake and countryside views. A clear approach to the country house was also reestablished by removing all unsightly extensions and constructing a double-height, glazed atrium space with new porch, to bring light into the depth of the building. Further restructuring of the facade reflected the interior remodelling, including and new spacious landing within the atrium space and a first floor extension to rebalanced the front elevation. New/renovated facilities within the extensive grounds also include the replacement double garage, a pool house and home gym.
