This project required the remodelling and extension of a historic country house in order to rectify a lack of circulation, garden access and poor maintenance. A new double-height circulation now connects all living spaces to the garden, including a new open-plan kitchen, dining & family room overlooking an outdoor pool. On the first floor, a gallery delivers natural light to a previously restricted attic and all bedrooms have been reconfigured to feature vaulted ceilings and en-suite facilities, with the addition of new guest accommodation. Throughout the property, our holistic design included bespoke interiors with built-in furniture and a fully integrated lighting scheme. The complete restoration of the existing building structure delivered a high-performance, breathable, thermal building envelope in conjunction with new underfloor heating, powered by a ground source heat pump, GSHP.
