About the practice

Architecture Initiative is a RIBA award-winning, design orientated and commercially aware studio engaged with building design, development strategies, mobilisation processes, and urban masterplanning. Founded in 2012 by Matt Goodwin, Lee Mainwaring and Rowan Parnell, Architecture Initiative challenges traditional consultancy conventions to deliver a competitive and design-focused service to our clients. We think there is still a place in the market for the medium-sized creative studio supported by technology and a collaborative ethos that allows it to be flexible in applying specialist resources to service particular projects. We have expertise across a broad range of sectors, scales and typologies; our current portfolio has a combined construction value exceeding £500 million, comprising of education, residential (single and multi-unit), commercial mixed-use, community and sensitive conservation/refurbishment and retrofit projects. Our particular ability is in realising maximum development and planning potential for our clients in both the private and public sectors.
