The brief was to design a large open ground floor space free from permanent structural supports and maximising the orientation of this west facing rear garden. The upper floors were supported on a new structural framework that was hidden to the eye and by angling one half of the roof we were able to reflect natural light deep into the space and capture the afternoon sunlight at the earliest opportunity.
