This house has become a statement of modern design! What was once an unremarkable 1970s detached house has been transformed in both appearance and character, and shows the potential for radical change immediately next to a village conservation area. The design relies on the clear use of a deliberately limited palette of materials – grey windows and roof, white rendered walls and timber boarding. The existing volume is rendered, with the various additions wrapped around this like a glove, including a large new garden room and kitchen which will form the heart of the home. Existing walls have been insulated as well as rendered, and the timber was carefully chosen to ensure it ages gracefully.
