The client owned this rental property and the tenant complained about severe condensation. The Local Authority was responsible for the outside of the building and my client the inside; the client appointed me to advise on the cause of the condensation and suggest remedial action. I made a thorough condition survey, identified likely causes of water ingress, wrote a report and advised on energy efficiency measures and improved ventilation as well as further investigation needed and remedial work. I also gave advice to the clients for their discussions with the Local Authority.
