AMA was commissioned to provide an extension to the offices and workshop of Duckworth and Kent, a company which designs and manufactures precision instruments for eye surgery. This would enable the company to expand its operation and provide a modern façade to its existing building which it has occupied since 1990. The proposal is for a two storey side extension which gives an internal floor area of 630sqm, producing a total area of 2400sqm. The primary use of the extension is to provide office accommodation for the existing and new employees. The existing carpark was extended and re-planned to accommodate the required number of spaces in accordance with parking standards.
