Listed Building - Grade II
This project involved the creation of a visitor experience at the National Trust’s Clumber Park. The brief was to link together under utilised parts of the Grade II Listed collection of buildings in the derelict Brewhouse Yard. The concept was to use the old courtyard to form the main circulation space, whilst retaining the sense of place created by the existing buildings. The structural glass roof gives this impression, highlighting the old brickwork arches, now internal, and pooling daylight into the centre of the building. Both physical and digital 3D models were used to demonstrate how visitors would navigate through the exhibition spaces. The main exhibition space interprets the history and ecology of Clumber Park, and is supported by a reference library, an audio-visual room and teaching space to cater for school parties.
