Alice Poole carried out the designs and working drawings to convert and extend a redundant vicarage, originally built in 1886, back to a family house. The aspect of the property, coupled with Victorian design ideas, meant that the original property was dark internally and the design aim was to bring as much light and sunlight into the property as possible. In the resulting design, Alice Poole combined features of the original Victorian gothic architecture with contemporary glazing, giving an interplay of solid and transparent structures to create an unique design.
