Project includes the demolition of an existing night club on the site and replacement with 305 student rooms,restoration of grade 2 listed building to a restaurant and bars with retail space on the ground and basement floor.The listed building is the previous home of architect John Dobson who was responsible for the major buildings in the centre of Newcastle in 19th century.One of a series of pavilions and gardens in Newbridge Street.The proposals include releasing the Dobson building from its present attachment to the night club,restoring and returning it more in kind to its initial setting. The residential building beyond step up the inclined site in three separate blocks.The first being 7 floors,the second 9 floors and the third 11 floors.The high blocks are separated by landscaped courtyards adding to the visual quality of journey through the narrow streets adjacent to offices and hotel.The project has received planning permission and work on site is planned to begin later this year.to be complete by Sept 2016.
