New build Extension,Refurbishment,Conservation to 1930s built open air Theatre.The largest open air Theatre in Europe since antiquity.Opened by the Queen in May 2010 with the first concert on 23 July 2010 with performances from Dame Kiri te Kanawa and Jose Carreras.Theatre sits in a man made lake overlooked within a natural bowl by tiered seating and surrounding landscape.The original theatre was built in 1932 and opened by the Lord Mayor of London.All original seating was replaced by comfortable tip up seats and extended to accomodate over 7000 people.All original buildings associated with the Theatre rebuilt or restored.
