The Emirates Air Line is a new landmark cable car project in East London. AHR, in collaboration with Buro Happold and URS Scott Wilson were selected as part of Mace’s winning team to provide the detail design and delivery of Wilkinson Eyre Architects concept scheme, as well as landscape design. Carefully following the concept design, AHR provided advanced CAD information to assist with the design and fabrication of the station buildings and the signature two-way curved steel towers, manufactured by Watson Steel. The scheme runs across the River Thames linking the O2 Arena with the Excel Centre. The design incorporates a green roof and photovoltaic cells and the project provided additional transport links to support the London 2012 Olympics.
