New Build
The client's instructions included a 3.6m rear extension to their mid terraced Town House. They wished for existing house and extension to be under floor heated. The extension was to be as high as possible, with no down-stand beams and I was to introduce as much light as possible via roof-lights, which open. They wished to open up the front of the house widening the hall, moving sanitary accommodation into utility room. They desired a view down the entrance hall all the way to rear garden with open space, wider, lighter. The hall was tiled running through the full depth of house with external paving at same level. The new open front space has frame less low iron acid etched glass sliding doors for if and when this space needs to be separated. The stair was redesigned using winders to allow for the widest fire door into kitchen. On second floor three remote controlled opening roof-lights were installed including remote controlled black out blind and rain sensor. The project was built on budget but took longer than anticipated due to unforeseen matters.
