Inspired by the client’s innovative engineering background and their vision to create a new collaborative campus, the 20,000m² office and laboratory building is arranged around a central covered piazza; a multi-functional and adaptive space. The central piazza creates a new heart for the building and the campus with office, laboratory and meeting spaces arranged in two interlocking L-shaped forms cantilevered above. A field of trees, outdoor rooms and pin-wheel pathways intersecting within the piazza extends into the landscape to connect the other campus buildings and facilities.
