About the practice

We deliver beautiful buildings which clients and the public love: they are bold and uplifting on the outside, spacious and bright on the inside. Our buildings make a strong impression but leave no footprint. They are at the forefront of sustainable design: we expect every project to be a carbon-positive habitable renewable energy power station. This is as important to us as keeping the rain out. Our buildings have won many awards, including a clutch of RIBA awards, and several national prizes for the best building of their type in the country. We are not big but we have a national reputation for design quality; the standard of our work is comparable to any of the grand metropolitan practices but we come without the hubris. We do not have a house style; instead we respond afresh to the individuality of each new client, brief, site and context. The common theme through our projects is that each is generated from a strong idea which then informs every part of the design. We are based in Oxford but we work all over the country and abroad. We are a close-knit but diverse team who work well together and look after each other; the office is a friendly, airy space full of people enjoying what they do - delivering built joy.
