We were approached by the client to transform their Edwardian townhouse into a home for modern family living. We proposed a set of considered changes to the ground floor layout - opening the original kitchen ceiling to the rafters and introducing a large roof light, flooding the deep ground floor plan to light and views of the sky by removing the existing rear WC block. A glazed extension is proposed to link the kitchen to the rest of the ground floor – creating a new dining area and stitching the previously fragmented activities of the kitchen and reception rooms together.
