A21 architects provided full architectural service developing this bespoke house design in close collaboration with the client. The house is located in Harpenden, Hertfordshire. The house features a huge open plan area combining play room, kitchen, grand piano dining room circulation & tree. This resulting building is a reimagining of the traditional English cottage. A house with stealth sharpness to the monolithic low pitched tiled roof complimented with concealed gutter providing a modern sharpness. The project takes the contemporary cottage away from the strictly modern to a playfulness in the design that takes its execution seriously.
