3DReid, acting as lead designer, have played an integral role in the submission of a planning application for a £180 million extension to Lakeside Centre in Thurrock on behalf of client Capital Shopping Centres (CSC). The application is for an 325,000 sqft (30,000sqm) of additional retail sales space at the northern end of the centre - increasing the size of Lakeside by nearly a third ans incorporate up to 40 new stores. The works will also include an improved transport infrastructure comprising a new bus station linked to Chafford Hundred rail station and provision for a new link road to the north of the centre. There will also be a new landscaped external street and public square.
