Alteration to existing property, Sited in Greenbelt land
Garage conversion to a dwelling, including extension, in the Green Belt: Our clients were ready to downsize their home, but were very reluctant to relocate. They therefore decided to convert their large existing garage into their new home. 2A1M’s involvement consisted of obtaining planning permission for a side extension to the garage, as well as gaining Building Control approval for the construction works. One of our client’s main objectives was to highly insulate the building without compromising the available floor area. 2A1M therefore kept wall, floor and roof constructions to a minimum, whilst still ensuring that the thermal performance was not compromised. This has resulted in a better climate controlled and energy efficient home. The end result is a surprisingly generous space, with lovely vaulted ceilings and animated light throughout.
