Our clients purchased a unit in this 1990s live-work complex with planning permission for a roof extension. They invited us to redesign it and personalise it to provide for their lifestyle and needs.
We successfully achieved planning permission for our re-interpretation of the two-storey roof extension and a self-contained two-bedroom flat on the ground floor level. Highlights of this project include, a unique, glazed, sunken roof terrace which brings an abundance of natural light into the main living areas and a central staircase which divides the otherwise open plan into four distinct areas, avoiding the need for any hallways.
Our scheme maximised the available natural light to each living space, incorporated spaces with different functions into a coherent floor plan, and managed to maintain the ability to view the sky and garden from the living area. This was something the client cherished in their previous home.
