New build greenbelt country house but to twenty-first century standards.
A replacement dwelling, with stables, swimming pool and tennis court on a secluded site in Rutland. The client’s brief was to build an 18th century farmhouse to modern standards constructed using traditional craftsmanship and materials. The ‘double pile’ design incorporates iron stone walls with Clipsham limestone dressing to the formal facades and traditional red brick construction to the secondary ranges. Internally, a swept oak staircase, folding timber shutters, open fireplaces, and double glazed sash windows add to the traditional detailing.
